Second Bottom Line

We are a company with a heart.

"To lead with our minds, our hearts and our actions in order to make the community and world around us a better place."

Since its inception almost 30 years ago, Tweezerman has maintained two bottom lines: one to measure profitability and another to share profits with those in need.  Our Second Bottom Line is the embodiment of our commitment to Social Responsibility. Since 1980, Tweezerman has supported hundreds of humanitarian, environmental, community and charitable organizations with a special focus on programs that support and empower women.  Our employees initiate and participate in numerous charitable programs and activities throughout the year.

Tweezerman BCA Slant Tweezer

In 1999, Tweezerman initiated our Breast Cancer Awareness project (BCA) as an integral part of our Second Bottom Line.  To commemorate our commitment to the fight against Breast Cancer, TMI features the iconic BCA Pink Ribbon logo on our best-selling Slant® Tweezer and Petite Tweeze® Set annually (during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October), and donates a percentage of the net sales to organizations devoted to cancer care and finding a cure.  Since 1997, Tweezerman employees have raised additional funds by participating in the American Cancer Society's Annual "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" Walkathon.  In 2008, Tweeerman became a sponsor for CEW Cancer and Careers, an interactive online resource that provides inspirational advice from survivors and cancer professionals on everything from telling your boss and scheduling treatments to knowing your legal rights.

In addition to Breast Cancer Awareness and Research, Tweezerman also supports organizations that focus on helping the environment, global relief and community outreach.  Some examples are:

The Humane Society of the US Logo

The Humane Society of the United States is the nation's largest and most effective animal protection organization—backed by 11 million Americans. Established in 1954, The HSUS seeks a humane and sustainable world for all animals—a world that will also benefit people. They are America's mainstream force against cruelty, exploitation and neglect, as well as the most trusted voice extolling the human-animal bond. The mission: Celebrate animals and confront cruelty. In 2010, Tweezerman launched the Pause for a Cause campaign to support the HSUS. $1 from the sale of every Paw Print Mini Slant® Tweezer and fifty cents from the sale of each Paw Print Matchbox Itty Bitty Nail File® will be donated to The Humane Society of the United States to support its efforts to raise awareness about adopting pets through the Shelter Pet Project, www.theshelterpetproject.org.

SmileTrain Logo

In 2009, Tweezerman launched the SmileTrain Zip Files.  $1 of the sales of each Zip File is donated to the SmileTrain foundation, which is focused on solving a single problem: cleft lip and palate. SmileTrain is the largest organization to provide free surgeries to children in 75 of the world’s poorest countries. They have the best safety and quality record and the lowest cost per surgery.

Arbor Day Foundation Logo

The Arbor Day Foundation inspires people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees to enrich our environment.  The Go Green Mini Slant® Tweezer comes in 100% recycled packaging printed with soy ink.  $1 from the sale of every Go Green Tweezer is donated to the National Arbor Day Foundation to plant trees.  With every Go Green Tweezer sold, a tree is planted.

Dress For Success
Tweezerman is a sponsor of Dress for Success in Nassau County.  Dress for Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Founded in New York City in 1997, Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization offering services designed to help disadvantaged women find jobs and remain employed.  Each Dress for Success client receives one suit when she has a job interview and can return for a second suit or separates when she finds work.

Habitat For Humanity Logo

Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to provide decent shelter for disadvantaged families.  Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.  Habitat has built more than 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter.  Tweezerman employees have donated their time and participated in Habitat for Humanity projects.
